Niya ehsi Nehiyaweyan

Waciyeh means Hello in the Cree language a word that alot of Nehiyawak do not use or have forgotten.

The basic word that you need to learn is:

Waciyeh ——— Hello

The response that I would give to a person asking me how I am doing.

The basic response you need to learn is:

Nimiyo macihon mekwac ———– I am feeling good right know (health wise)

or

Namoya mekwac nimiyo macihon —- I am not feeling good right now (health wise)

The proper response would be to let them know that you are fine and ask them how they are doing.

The basic response you need to learn is:

 Namonantow Kiya maka —– I am fine and how are  you?

This is what I say to a person after shaking their hands

The basic question you need to learn is:

Tanisi ——– Which means how are you?

This is how you greet a person as a Nehiyaw.

The basic movement that you need to know is the handshake.

This is what you do when you meet a person, first you shake their hand to greet them.
